We want our practices to build mathematicians who understand the big ideas of math, create models of math ideas, have a strong sense of numbers, understand how math ideas are connected, solve a variety of math problems, reason mathematically, communicate their math ideas, and have a positive disposition. These are our beliefs for all of our students including those that have unfinished learning.

How do we get there with all learners? How do we meet our goals for all learners?

Children are in different (and multiple) places on their sense-making journey. What matters is how we understand, respond, and nurture them along wherever they are in their journeys.

Please join us in updating our beliefs about math, rediscovering math content, and modifying our instruction to match our new beliefs and content understandings. See first hand how math intervention resources will enhance math learning for all of our students with research informed practices that are interactive, engaging, and focused on the big ideas of mathematics.

This course is open to anyone who teaches first grade students - in core, inclusion, special education, intervention - or anyone who supports the learning as a coach or administrator.
