The science is conclusive: There is no controversy among education and neuroscience. Movement creates optimal learning and facilitates memory retention. The challenge- How to teach with movement when you have a class of 30, one teacher confined to a small room, and optimize true integration of the TEKS without losing your mind, oh and maybe reignite one's joy for teaching. Learn from a teacher/trainer who was on the brink of leaving the profession. It IS possible.

RTI Math - 5 - Fifth Grade Math Fluency - Multiplication and Division; Adding and Subtracting Rational Numbers
Limited Capacity seats available

Humans across all cultures and through time have constructed beautiful mathematics to solve the problems around them, to mathematize their worlds, and to model their worlds mathematically. They constructed number systems to record how many, or how many more were needed, or how many altogether.

Join us for an examination of how our students develop big ideas, strategies, and models as their conceptual understanding emerges.

This course is recommended for any fifth grade teacher, math interventionist, special education or inclusion teacher who work with fifth grade students.

RTI Math - 2 - Second Grade RTI at Core - Same Space Different Learning: Supporting the Sense-making Journeys of Young Mathematicians
Limited Capacity seats available

We want our practices to build mathematicians who understand the big ideas of math, create models of math ideas, have a strong sense of numbers, understand how math ideas are connected, solve a variety of math problems, reason mathematically, communicate their math ideas, and have a positive disposition. These are our beliefs for all of our students including those that have unfinished learning.

How do we get there with all learners? How do we meet our goals for all learners?

Children are in different (and multiple) places on their sense-making journey. What matters is how we understand, respond, and nurture them along wherever they are in their journeys.

Please join us in updating our beliefs about math, rediscovering math content, and modifying our instruction to match our new beliefs and content understandings. See first hand how math intervention resources will enhance math learning for all of our students with research informed practices that are interactive, engaging, and focused on the big ideas of mathematics.

This course is open to anyone who teaches second grade students - in core, inclusion, special education, intervention - or anyone who supports the learning as a coach or administrator.

Yoga and meditation (Wellness)
Limited Capacity seats available

yoga postures are a great way to prepare the body for meditation. Yoga is not only rejuvenating for the body but also the brain. Yoga postures were actually designed to systematically prepare the body to meditate.By slowing down, we begin to accomplish more and we keep our attention in the present moment. This also helps to strengthen our body, as well as awareness, to prepare for meditation.

Meditation and yoga are interrelated.
